After conversations regarding the exclusion from the WalkBikeNashville Mayoral Forum, they allowed me to participate in their questionnaire phase of their candidate engagement process.

How have you been? It looks like you've been busy. I recently found out that you are running for Mayor and I want to wish you the best of luck! I honestly think that it’s great that you are running and that we need more people like yourself in public office, or at least take the opportunity to have their voices heard. I want to vote for people of the written word and philosophy, who value thought and logic and reason and prioritize art and community for the residents. We need people in power with a human-first mindset and plan, not a money-based, corporate-prioritized mindset and plan. The platform you have taken needs your voice, especially in contrast with the voices that are typically there, and I am excited to see what you do with it.
Having a pedestrian and bike-friendly community is important to me (among many things) and I think we are extremely far away from that in Nashville. So, I was interested in reading the Walk Bike Nashville questionnaire for the mayoral candidates. While I very much liked all of your responses, I noticed that one of your responses was cut off on the article on their website. I want to let you know that I emailed them to let them know that was careless and unfair and that it needed to be corrected, which it now has been.
If and when I have the opportunity, I will be advocating for you to have an equal opportunity to have your voice heard and a seat at the table.
Looking forward to the next Salt Weekly!
